ABOUT ME

Jennifer (Jen) S. Dean is the founder and Executive Director of All Girls Considered, a national podcast run by middle and high school girls that is dedicated to telling the stories of inspiring women and girls. For the past six years Jennifer worked in education research and served her community as a middle school English teacher - where All Girls Considered was created.

Jennifer received a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Texas at Arlington (2005) and an M.A. in Teaching (2014) from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. Prior to her current professional and scholarly roles, Jennifer was the National Research Assistant at 826 National in San Francisco in addition to working in museum administration at the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth. As a 2017-8 recipient of the Germanacos Fellowship for Sharing History, Jennifer pushed the boundaries of oral history storytelling to develop student voice while fostering familial and community connections.

Jennifer has published on the relationship between education policy and perceptions of teachers in the media. She also researches and writes about the development of student voice through classroom curriculums. Currently, Jennifer is writing about gratitude in addition to the importance of owning your own story.
